The Class of Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Seven of West Bridgewater High School takes pride in
dedicating this, our yearbook, to Mrs. Patricia Murphy. We would like to thank you for all your help
and understanding in dealing with our Class and its problems, and for helping us in all our activities.
You've not only impressed us as a dedicated faculty member, but as a true friend to the Class of 19 77.
For these reasons, we proudly and sincerely dedicate our 1977 CLIMBER to you.

THE MANY MOODS
OF MRS. MURPHY

\>

In Memoriam . . .

LYNDA HARVEY . . .

She shed her love upon us

Though she was here for just a while,

Lynda melted many hearts

With her glowing angel smile.

She laughed at pain and sorrow
And cheered those up who were down,
And the only hat she could ever wear,
Would be a gem-filled crown.

Though we may forget all our friends
That we've had throughout school years,
We'll remember Lynda most
With laughter, not with tears.

Tfear my mind out.

ie rowdie and many kinds I met there
Many stories told me of the way to get there.

So on and on I go the seconds tick the time out ■

There's so much left to know and I'm ON THE ROAD TO FIND OUT.

Well in the end I'll know, but on the way I wonder"
Through desending snow, through the frost and thunder.
Well I listen to the wind come howl telling me I have to hurry
I listen to the robin's song saying not to worry.

\^ ...

So on and on I go the second tick the time out

There's so much left to know and I'mON THE ROAD TO FIND OUT.

Then I found myself alone hoping someone would miss me
Thinking "about my home and the last woman to kiss me.
Well sometimes ya have to moan, when nothing seems to suit ya
But nevertheless ya know you're locked towards the future.

So on and on I go the seconds tick the time out

There's so much left to know and I'm ON THE ROAD TO FIND. OUT.

Then I found my head one day when I wasn't even trying
And here I have to say cause there is no use in lying. •
Yes, the answer lies within, "so why not take and look now
Kick out the devil's sin, pick up. a Good Book now. .-'. '

To The Class Of 1977=

As I wrote the above salutation the word "Class" cauj
my eye. In addition to designating a group of people
it has a special meaning in our American slang. In
that context it often means someone or a group has a
distinctive quality when compared with other persons or
groups. For example World Champions almost always have
"class". So it is with you as a group and as individuals,
conduct yourselves so that you too have that extra some-
thing that is called "Class*.

You're going out at a time when our Nation, and the World,
are faced with serious and far-reaching problems. Severe
as they seem, most of them will be resolved through hard
work and faith. Perhaps it will help to remember Carl
Sandburg's  fine  words;

"It's going to come out all right —

do you know?
The sun, the birds, the grass —

they know
They get along —

and we'll get along."

Good luck, thank you for the many fine things you've done
for your School, and may God Bless You with good health.

HIGH SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION

To The Members Of The Class Of 1977!

Congratulations! In early June as part of your graduation exercises you will
be presented a diploma. To you and to the many who observe this ceremony,
this significant act will have a different meaning. To you it is both symbolic
and a verification that you have achieved a competency in various skills
and in a sequence of experiences. By design these experiences and acquired "
skills should make your transition into full adulthood easier. The possession
of a high school diploma does not guarantee instant success but it does
provide you with the opportunity to build upon past experiences which in
turn may lead to success.

It is hoped that the social and educational experiences that you have had
while in the West Bridgewater Public Schools will be memorable and
beneficial. I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the effort each
one of you has extended for your classmates and your school. You can
point to your accomplishments and your contributions with pride.

I offer my sincerest congratulations and wish you the greatest of success
in your future endeavors.

Yours truly,

S. Erick Benson
Principal

To The Class Of 1977

I have enjoyed my association with you during the past
three years at West Bridgewater. Our school has at-
tempted to assist you in becoming reasonable and respons-
ible individuals. Whether we have succeeded, only time
will tell; but in today's world, one must possess these
qualities in order to survive.

Your public school years have ended. You will now go out
into the world either to further your education or to enter
the job market.

I wish you success and happiness in your endeavors.

"In the beginning was the word," and the word
is still amongst us the distinguishing mark of
man. To help our students to understand the
word in its best uses — literature; to parry it
in its worst uses — propoganda; to create new
worlds with the word or to enlarge the inner-
world — through reading and writing; to grasp
the hand of our ferlow man in word and play —

purposes of education in the mother tongue

The Social Studies faculty, is striving
to impress upon its students the import-
ant interrelationship between social
studies, the sciences, and the human-
ities. The common factor among the
many academic disciplines found under
the broad term social studies is the
study of human beings, individually or
in groups, at one point in time, or over
a period of time. The challenge of Amer-
ica's third century lies in adapting our
studies to meet the needs of all mankind.
